Join us online, if you fancy?

Hello,

I’m sure you’ve seen the draft version of the new songbook with all the new songs in it? If not, it’s here. Let us know if you spot any glaring mistakes in the new songs, and if not, we’ll be publishing the final version next week.

Whether you frequent the Royal George, the Tamesis, or you’ve not been for years, you are welcome to join us with or without booze for the online strum. Join Pandemic Pluckers on FB Not on FB? Email here for the joining info.

If you want to learn, I’ve moved my courses online. If you’re keen to join, please check out the free 7-day challenges or paid options if you want a live class, feedback and help along the way. Online course info is here.

Strum with you soon!

Lorraine x

PS:

Know any more ukulele playing friends in London? Loads of people aren’t on this email list. For things like this, it’s handy, as the news could save you an inconvenience of going to the wrong venue. Please make sure everyone’s signed up so the news comes straight to yours and their inbox rather than in a social post that you might miss. Perhaps you could forward this email on to let your ukulele jamming friends know about this email list so that they can also join and know straight away if there are important updates like this in the future? Many thanks and look forward to strumming with you.

PPS:

Those who are eagle-eyed would have already seen this on the blog or on FB or twitter, so sorry for any repetition. I look forward to strumming with you!

Wondering why you’re receiving this?

You’re receiving this because you’re currently on the Ukulele Wednesdays email list. If you’re not in London and you only want to hear from us if a new edition of the Songbook comes out, please unsubscribe from this email list and join this email list for Ukulele Wednesdays Songbook Updates only, then we’ll only drop you a line when we publish new songs, but not worry you about the jam night itself.)

Not even remotely going to happen again. It was retro even in 2012. But the video is still a thing that exists.

New songbook – rough copy for testing

THIS POST NO LONGER HAS A DOWNLOAD LINK TO THE DRAFT VERSION OF OUR SONGBOOK. PLEASE VISIT THIS PAGE TO FIND THE LATEST, FINISHED EDITION.

After almost three years of toil (and long breaks of doing nothing) we have fashioned a new DRAFT of a songbook. It’s almost there, but we’d like you to help us play through it and spot any errors.

It has 99 new songs (marked with an asterisk) and updated versions of 255 from the old book.

Download your copy by clicking on the link or image below and let us know any errors in the comments below (or through the Ukulele Wednesdays Facebook page).

And when the final version comes out, please delete this one. We want everyone to be singing from the same songsheets. (We’ve put ugly watermarks on every page to encourage you to do this.

Christmas Ukulele-Ing in London

There will be no strumalong at the Albany until Wednesday 20 December, which will be the final strum of the year. The Royal George and the Bell, E17 will strum as normal. As ever, check via the FB groups for up-to-date info.

Do you have the Xmas songbook?

Also…

Whilst Christmas is a magical time of year for some, for others it’s a time that can be difficult as it can exacerbate loneliness and feelings of loss. For this reason, Lorraine invites you to either donate goods or money to Crisis (Homeless Charity) or to join her in leading a number of singalongs on Wednesday 27 December…

Tonight at the Horse & Stables…

Did you know there’s a free gig organised by the George’s resident ukulele band, Ukiverse? Go along and join them. There will be spare ukuleles for you to use.
Ukiverse will kick things off, there will be 2 open mic sessions including an ad hoc session, a strum-a-long and then the headliners Ukevox, this is their website http://www.ukevox.com/home.html
Ukevox would everyone to join in with ‘Finland’ by Monty Python to help celebrate 100 years of Finland’s Independence. Apparently it’s quite easy (C, G and F), there will be song sheets and it’ll be up on the screen. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=baHsoEAAMZU
Ukevox are also going to play a set at the George on Wednesday at 7pm before the jam in place of the regular 3rd Wednesday open mic.
